Comments: Liverpool cannot call itself Capital of Culture by ridding itself of one of its artistic landmarks due to small-minded demands by a bunch of NIMBYs.

Comments: I am emailing to pledge my support for the Antony Gormley statues to remain in the fabulous setting of Crosby beach. This work, made by the UK's most high profile artist add something trully unique to the north west and reveal that we are visionary enough to bring culture into the heart of all that we do!

Comments: I work for tourisim on Merseyside, and believe me the Anthony Gormley statues are a BIG draw. Even before there was the fuss about the move, we get many enquiries about them. Long may the reside on merseyside!! Look at the Lambanana. People either loved or hated him, but we would hate to see him go now.

Comments: I agree that having such a world renowned piece of work in the area can only be beneficial, especially taking into account the forthcoming Capital of Culture status. They do not appear to be causing harm to anyone, and removal seems a ridiculous act - I do not know what statement they are trying to make, but I don't think it's working!

Comments: This work has captured the popular imagination and that's reason enough for it to stay - the commercial benefits to the region are a further bonus. "Health and Safety" will be the death of our culture if it continues to be used as an excuse to smother cultural vitality.

Comments: These statues are unique and remarkable on the coastline at Crosby. I'm sure that it's possible to address any environmental or safety concerns and hope that a solution can be found to keep them.
