Comments: Moline school board needs to wake up and stop hindering the students. it is also wrong to opt out from special ed at Blackhawk Special ed school. you are discriminating against those students with disabilities. they are entitled to their education at a school that is equipped for their needs and not at an escalated price.

Comments: With reports of school districts nationwide extending the school days and years, having our high school contracting needed credits to graduate will certainly have a negative effect on students as they compete for limited college openings. Please consider other options to bridge the financial gap without punishing our children. Thank you.

Comments: As a former Moline High School student that was very involved with the fine arts program at Moline I am very upset with these changes put forth. If it wasn't for the arts I would currently not be studying music education. These teachers are a true inspiration to their students. If it wasn't for my high school choir teacher Ron May, I would be on a completely different path right now. I would probably be studying some subject that would make me the most money instead of something that I am truly passionate about. I am very VERY embarrassed by the actions of this school board for trying to cut students off from something they truly love.

Comments: I got my start with the fine arts in high school. I played French horn, took many art classes, and was heavily active in theatre. As a theatre major with an art minor, I believe that the arts need to stay in schools because it gives students a way to express themselves in a safer environment than some are exposed to.

Comments: I think they should leave Moline the way it is. Some of those classes help some of the people to get their major degrees in college. Plus we get college credit for them classes.

Comments: I believe the EXTRA programs should be saved, My oldest daughter will be graduating Moline high this year and thanks to her wonderful art teacher and the many art classes she was allowed to attend, she was accepted in to Columbia Art Institute in Chicago. My daughter loves art its all she has ever wanted to do is work in the arts and now thanks to the classes at Moline High she will get to live her dream. Why are they doing this to these kids, It is like they are telling them its not ok to dream just to learn. It saddens me to no end. I have a daughter who will be starting Moline High next year and she to wants to work in the arts. It looks like I will have to tell her that her dreams do not matter anymore. It is a shame and it is wrong, KEEP THE ART PROGRAMS PLEASE!!!!

Comments: My desire to become a graphic designer came to me while exploring and learning to appreciate ALL of the arts while at MHS. Any action that limits a student's opportunity to fully explore his or her gifts at this formative stage of life, academic or artistic, is, in short, a travesty.
