Name: Tim & Andrea Dewaele on Dec 13, 2012Comments: Our daughter was one of the "specialized" college bound students and took many dual credit/AP courses in core classes at Moline and combined them with art classes. She built her own specialized program to help in her college degree/career field--Anthropology/Museum Studies. She now works at the college museum where she has used her unique combination of skills gained at Moline to design exhibits and organize children's events. Artistic/business skills are needed in so many fields and contribute to a versatile college student, entrepreneur, or employee. It would be unfortunate if students could no longer pursue their dreams.Flag

My child..your child we must encourage them learning and going further! This can effect our children's chances in getting scholarships that will help them go further! Our public school system needs to stop letting our children down! Cutting enriching programs as these just shows them we have failed them!Flag

Comments: Moline students, like my sister, need to have access to all the programs that can get them ahead of the norm. As a former Moline student I am appalled at the idea of cutting the wonderful programs that I was once involved with. I would wish all students to have the option to expand their knowledge through the classes that the school board is trying to cut.Flag -

I missed out on taking classes such as a foreign language so I could participate i band or choir (not both). I've regretted not taking a foreign language and it hurt me in college. Why is Moline schools regressing?Flag
