Comments: Art is fundamental in fully molding students to be prepared for life after high school. I was a student at Moline High School and art was a major part of my high school years and has helped me discover myself.

Comments: Being an art education major in college whom graduated from this school I say this is not okay. If it was not for the strong art and music program at Moline I would not be the person I am today. It pains me to see such great programs being threatened by rule makers who do not listen to graduates like myself who have such a great future ahead of them all thanks to the hard work of high school educators. Please work towards keeping the all to important art programs in this institution and find other areas to cut. There is no need to sacrifice so many students futures.

Comments: Art is a huge life part of my life, without those teachers I may have gone through with my attempt to kill myself. DiGiogia is more of a father figure to me then my own dad. And I know there are others who feel the same.

Comments: This decision by the school district is ridiculous. Being an alum of Moline High School, with the curriculum as it already is I barely felt prepared for a higher education. Cutting programs, laying off educators and making the requirements less for students is hurting the community in the long run. This is a disgrace and I hate to say I'm from Moline, Illinois right now because of this decision.

Comments: I support my niece Marina Kruger's desire that you maintain the art program at MHS! She is an incredibly gifted and talented artist who no doubt will be a very successful artist in whatever field she choses to use her skills. All of this was inspired by the programs and teachers that you have right there at MHS!

Comments: Art programs are such a huge form of inspiration for these kids in such a dull world. People don't realize that we need more dreamers in this world. What big, prosperous thing has happened in the last year? Ten years? The decline of the fine arts programs are to blame for this, not the lack of intelligence in math, science, and English! Come on, people!

Comments: Art is everywhere and everything. Creative people should be controlling the world. Artists are problem-solvers and make their decisions consciously with thorough reasoning. Art was the most beneficial class I had in my high school experience.

Comments: I believe that what the board has done is completely wrong! The Arts are a way of expression for so many people in the world and Moline has one of the best and most influential art programs. I can personally say that my life is made up of my love for the arts, I love them with my entire being and I love being able to express myself in a way that is special to myself and so many others. I haven't been able to take art classes at Moline yet because of my busy schedule but I was going to be able to take them next year and I was thrilled! The board however put a stop to my excitement for my senior year. One of the things everyone has heard Moline get praised sky-high for is its music and art programs because Moline is filled with bright, creative minds and wonderful teachers to guide them. A world without creativity is not a world at all. Petitions like these are crucial to save the arts! Taking away these classes is a huge mistake that will affect everyone in a very negative manner. I sign up whole heartedly!
