Name: Darcey Reczkiewicz on Dec 15, 2012Comments: As a fromer graduate of Moline High School and a current teacher of courses in the elective areas, it saddens me to hear that purposed cuts like this are being made. It is unfortunate to hear that students may lose the opportunity to explore possible career choices like those found in the areas of Career and Technical education and Fine Arts. Not every student excels in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies, and need the elective opportunites offered in other areas to become successful.Flag

Name: Laura Cruimbleholme on Dec 17, 2012Comments: We will be considering other schooling options for our kids if these cuts are put through. This threatens all of the at-risk kids who need something positive to look for at school. And it threatens all of the honors kids who need extra classes to boost college scholarship chances. I understand cuts need to be made, but this is the wrong way to make them.Flag

Name: Missy Lindholm on Dec 17, 2012Comments: I have one student that will be entering MHS an one that has been attending BHAEC for year. You need a foreign language to meet college requirements and am upset that my daughter has to choose between taking a class that is required for college and giving up choir, I do not know how the school board in good conscience can say that the quality of education is not being compromised when you are actually cutting classes and time spend at school. I can't even begin to express how ridiculous it is to consider the BHAEC kids attending main stream schools, my child has been going there for years, I know those students and my own child and I just do not see how they can even consider this. For the first time ever I am considering private school or getting out of this school district.Flag

Name: Teresa Hinz on Dec 17, 2012Comments: These cuts will be extremely detrimental to our children's educations. I do not think that a college bound student should not be able to participate in band, choir, fine arts or engineering in order to take a college required foreign language. The school day not starting until 9am is not acceptable. How do you propose a parent who needs to be at work by 8am get their child to school?Flag
