Thanks to our helpers and Channel 8 News

We give out a big thanks to everyone who came and represented our very own Moline High School at the Public Mic board meeting earlier tonight. Great job and thank you for contributing to everyone who participated.

On another note, our petition will be featured on the Channel 8 News (WQAD) and on the WQAD website! Big shout out to our WQAD friends for all the help (and hopefully the signatures).

All in all, a very successful night for our cause! Keep it up!

If you would like to see the report and read the article it can all be found at their website here!

We cannot have our (f)Art classes cut!

Why can't you pay for your own art class at Black Hawk College? Why should tax payers be forced to pay for your finger paintings?

    In response to Seymore:
Many students at Moline show high proficiency in art and the school has one of the best art programs in the area; some of these students also could not afford to take classes at Blackhawk and therefore, their talent would go unnoticed. Art careers are surprisingly lucrative and literally everything you own required an artist to design it. Please take a moment to consider before you denounce the art programs so quickly.

At least 50% of students at Moline are on waivers, meaning that they do not have the finances to pay for classes that are not provided through the school. Art is no longer the "finger paintings" that people used to think. Moline's exceptional art program has turned out dozens of students who have become nationally renowned in their art-related field of work. Moline's art program also earns the most scholarships of any other program at the high school.
