Currently, there is no guidance on how solo dance events at U.S. Adult Championships will be divided should the number of entries warrant groups. Previous division of solo dance groups has been done randomly. The result has been a huge disparity as skaters in ages ranging from 20s to 70s compete together in each group. If there is not enough to warrant dividing a level, this is a moot point and I am not in disagreement with that. But, if there will be division of a level into groups, why not divide them by age to create consistency, fairness, and ensure a true competitive atmosphere appropriate for a national championship.
