Solidarity with international students

The petition

The University of Sussex is on a mass drive to recruit more higher-fee paying international students. Unlike ‘home’ students, who can take out government-sponsored loans, international students have to fund themselves. Often unforeseen and exceptional circumstances prevent these students from being able to pay their full-fees before the Summer examination period.

Students who have been studying all year are now being told that they will be permanently excluded from the University of Sussex within the week if they fail to pay-up, which means not being able to take final exams.

I the undersigned, call for the University of Sussex to allow all students with outstanding tuition fees to sit their summer exams, and, if necessary, withhold their results/classification until payment has been made and/or agreed.
