We, a group from sec 3I, are embarking on our social advocacy project. We would like to lodge a complaint regarding floods around Raffles Institution (RI) and Raffles Junior College (RJC) vicinity which include floods along walkways around RI, and also along Bishan Road, Bishan St. 21 and Braddell Road especially after heavy downpours. These minor floods are basically due to water accumulation across impermeable surface from heavy rainfall and cannot rapidly dissipate. This is also a result of uneven pathways, improper leveling of roads and inadequate drainage. These areas around RI and RJC are heavily used by Rafflesians to get to several bus stops in Bishan and Braddell Roads, and also to Bishan MRT Station. Many other pedestrians including those living in Bishan and also other passers-by also pass by these areas. These routes are commonly used by those who take public transport which include buses nos. 13, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 59, 58, 88, 93, 156, 157, 163 and 410, and the North-South MRT Line. Singaporeâ
