I hereby support the demands of SOAS4GAZA:
1. The SOAS student union should cultivate an academic partnership with the student union of Al’Asqua University in Palestine.
2. Additional postgraduate scholarships should be created for Palestinian students wishing to study at SOAS.
3. No staff or students are to be persecuted for their involvement in organising or support for the SOAS occupation that ended on November 22nd 2012.
It remains imperative that all students who wish to see the above demands met meaningfully by management maintain their support and sign our online petition. Continued unity and application of the kind of pressure which could only have been generated by an occupation will be essential in the coming days and weeks to ensure the symbolic stand made by occupy activists leads to real victories in terms of what we can do for the people of Gaza.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum built around these goals because the credit truly belongs to the students who kept this conversation alive. Seeing so many people align with these demands reminds me that this is a collective effort far bigger than my initial hopes.

stop punishing students for standing up for what is right! let them study.
Long overdue. Why is it so hard for the uni to just do the right thing for once?
Absolutely agree. We need more solidarity between universities worldwide. SOAS should lead the way on this.
This is a great initiative. Education is a basic right and these students deserve to finish their degrees without constant fear.
Keep fighting for those scholarships. The situation over there is heartbreaking and the least we can do is offer space for these kids to learn.
