| 852 | JC Trudy | 04 | 01 | 98027 | Think of the birds, the critters and the bears. They need somewhere and Soaring Eagle is all they have on the plateau. Remember they were here first. Gandi quote: "One can tell the greatness of a nation by the way it treats its animals." |
| 853 | Anonymous | 04 | 01 | 98075 | I walked through soaring eagle park with my dog at least 4 times a week. It is absolutely beautiful and I feel lucky to have it so close to my home. I strongly propose sacrificing the beauty for more soccer fields, especially when the current soccer fields are not set up to drain properly and are shut down before the soccer season ended. |

| 856 | Laure Runyan | 04 | 01 | 98075 | Soaring Eagle Park is an amazing treasure. I spend quality time with my children hiking on the winding, peaceful trails. They love to balance on logs and find the perfect hiking stick. My husband and I enjoy the thrill of mountain biking on the challenging trails. I recently started trail running on the main trail through the park. I marvel at the large trees and diversity of wildlife. We need open forest space to enjoy in King County and especially in Sammamish. We cannot spare 30 acres when so little natural space remains. We defiantly do not need to chop down our remaining woodland for sports fields, noise, congestion, lights and who knows what else. Sammamish does not have a clear plan for the 30 acres and therefore should not be allowed to acquire the land. Do not allow the sale of this beautiful, precious place that I have grown to love. |

| 859 | Paul Favro | 04 | 01 | 98075 | Soaring Eagle park is a rare example of how natural habitat areas can exist amongst residential developments. To scrape that forested area for the purpose of soccer fields with lights will be for too great an inviromental impact to an area already rapidly being overdeveloped. This an absolute wrong decision to even be considering. |

| 861 | W. D. Drummond | 01 | 01 | 98027 | I first got the news of what was being proposed to be done to Soaring Eagle Park from the Issaquah Reporter. and think that newspaper should be commended for its reporting. I also think that the natural beauty of the King County area should be preserved for the benefit of residents. I'll do my best to support Friends of Soaring Eagle Park and similar organizations in King County. |

To me, by saving this park, it's clearly more evident it preserves the capability for maintaining naturally clean air and water -- and promoting this is our responsibility. |

| 870 | Aaron Hansen | 03 | 01 | 98024 | This park contains some of the best hiking and mountain biking trails in the area, and it's right in our own back yard. There are plenty of soccer and sports fields, some within minutes of this park. Once the trees are gone they are gone for ever. |

Few communities can boast having a secluded network of trails so close to home. The proximity of this park to our homes makes it much more available then the issaquah alps and Tiger mountain. A few weeks ago I encountered a pair of owls. I frequent this park at least once every two weeks. |

| 887 | Anonymous | 04 | 01 | 98074 | Soaring Eagle Park should be left in its natural state. It is one of the only spaces left on the plateau where you can enjoy nature in its totally undisturbed state. There are many other options available for sports fields. |

| 890 | Anonymous | 02 | 02 | 98074 | Soaring Eagel park is so beautiful, and is one of the last places in Sammamish that is untouched. We already have plenty of ball fields, so what is the rational behind wanting to build more? It's stupid. |

| 897 | Richard Tinsley | | | 98155 | I urge you to reject Proposed Ordinance No. 2007-0353. Soaring Eagle Regional Park should remain undeveloped and enjoyed for passive recreation. Cutting 30 acres out of the park would destroy its character. Building sports fields there would encourage more roads and developments in that area, create more noise and impermeable surfaces, interfere with wildlife, and aid the spread of noxious weeds. Lights would be installed, which would further impact wildlife. Traffic would increase, putting more pressure on surrounding roads and increasing congestion
There is enough suitable land to build sports fields in Sammamish without infringing on Soaring Eagle Regional Park. There is no need to destroy 30 acres of forested land. The land provides many benefits, including plant and wildlife habitat, water quality and retention, and passive enjoyment. |
| 898 | Dan Rawlings | 04 | 02 | 98075 | The foundation of the City of Sammamish was to curb development. The city council does not represent the desires of the residents. |
| 899 | Fern Wilson | 03 | 02 | 98075 | |
| 900 | Thomas Blackwood | 03 | 02 | 98029 | This park is a unique and priceless resource, and while I understand the desire for more ballfields, we need to hold the line and keep this parcel intact. Too many times I have seen the concept of "creeping incrementalism" just chip away at natural areas until there is nothing left. Given the rapid state of development in the Issaquah/Sammamish area (example: the new swath of housing all the way across the front of Cougar Mountain), it is especially important to keep this last remaining wild place on the plateau intact. |
