Soap TV give soaps their own channel

It has come to my attention that Soaps on TV the likes of Coronation Street and Eastenders have for decades ruled our every waking moment in media. During the day they are spoken about on local radio stations accross the country, used for lead stories on the news and taking unlimited column inches in our newspapers. I am now saying that it is time for everyone to take action on this,this petition is for the BBC and ITV to remove soaps from prime time television and give them their own channel on the new freeview service.
there is nothing wrong with soaps as an entity however there is something wrong with the way they are delivered and covered in the media, giving them their own channel should make everyone happy. On their own channel they can be repeated as much as necessary, padded with advertising and sponsorship to pay for them and most importantly in the case of the BBC it should remove the need to have our hard earned licence fee spent on this when a number of the population including myself would rather it wasnt.
there is nothing wrong with soaps, they should continue as they entertain rather a large number of the population but give us the choice to watch them! ask yourself the question, how much airtime is given over to the showing of soaps when the time could better be spent informing the nation of the plight of the sick and weiry, those in conflict, those needing understanding or just harmless light hearted entertainment. Moving them to their own channel would free up tens of hours a week for other media.
Lets show our support for this idea, and please sign. The media should not be given this cheap "out" for free either, perhaps as a side part to this we could raise some money for charity, if a local or national radio station does want to pad with a soap story they should be made to pay, to charity that is as the makers have enough money and the BBC dont get any. A contribution could be forced to a lottery fund or central cause for distribution.
