| 504 | Warner H Blake II | Very frightening indeed, how a town can care more about some silly tradition than a student destined for things other than football. Unbelievable. |
| 505 | Chris Lund | Football and traditions before a human beinging? Shame! |
| 506 | Dan | |
| 507 | Katie Hayes | Get well soon Brett. All the best to you and your family. |

| 510 | Isaac Yang | Hope you get better soon -- I got into an accident earlier where I was afraid that I couldn't walk again, but after a few weeks I'm still getting better. Take care |
| 511 | Brian Beck | When Football is put over the life of someone, priorities are out of whack. You rednecks should be ashamed. |
| 512 | Daniel Paramo | i find it ridiculous how a town could react like this. Great well soon! |

| 514 | Kris | Hey Brett...
Hang in there, keep working hard in PT and know a whole ton of people are pulling for you. As for the town folks, grow up... this is a person, a child, so act like human beings, adults, and a community and support this young guy! |
| 515 | John Price | Hey Brett,
Hang in there bud. Our thoughts are with you from Georgia.
I hope the Holidays can raise your spirits some.
Merry Christmas
Cheers, John. |
| 516 | Andrew Morton | The people of Snohomish ought to be ashamed of themselves putting a stupid and childish tradition of cannon firing ahead of the well being of a human. I'm glad I don't live in such a barbaric town, nor would I ever want to visit such a place. |
| 517 | Anonymous | Stay strong Brett! Not everyone is as awful as those few bums in Snohomish |
| 518 | Steven Wilson | |
| 519 | Tim Lamb | All my best to Brett. Sad to see a town turn against one of its own during a time when he needs them the most. |
| 520 | Spencer Ford | wow... I'm ashamed FOR them. |

| 522 | Anton Shevchenko | Get well soon and be proud of who you are. |
| 523 | James Willing | I am originally from the Pacific Northwest, but everytime I read something like this I am ashamed to be associated with the region. When people start to place more importance on sports and tradition, than on the health and safety of the participants, they they have truly lost perspective on what is really important. |
| 524 | Ben Gieseler | sick hicks |
| 525 | Anonymous | Get well soon man. Just remember, there are towns out there who give more of a damn about people than football. |
| 526 | Benjamin Orloff | Dear Brett,
My name is Ben and I am an Ensign in the US Navy currently stationed in Pensacola undergoing training to become an aviator. I am a graduate of Issaquah High School (2001) and was CO of the NJROTC program there as well as a member of the Armed Drill Team and Color Guard. I remember attending drill meets at your school every year and enjoyed meeting the members of your unit. I offer you my deepest sympathies. Who knows if what caused the injuries to your leg could have been prevented, but the reaction by the community is unforgivable. I am truly sorry that when you needed support the most, those who would be at your side abandoned you. Do not loose hope. I wish you a speedy recovery and that your injury will not prevent you from attaining your goal of becoming a Marine. God bless.
Semper Fidelis

| 528 | Jordan Uggla | I am somewhat hesitant to condemn anyone without knowing the full story, but if what I have been hearing about your towns reaction to your tragic accident is true then I feel truly sorry for you and for them for getting so caught up in a tradition that they would shun somebody for being seriously injured in an accident for which they were not at fault. I want you to realize that it is not normal behavior to hold a tradition over a human life and I fear that if the tradition does end it will be because of the towns lack of remorse and indeed hateful reaction. The fact they they would ask you to cover this incident up shows that they do not have the maturity required to safely own a cannon. I hope that the town realizes what they have done and apologizes but even if they do not, do not let them convince you that you are in any way at fault. I hope that you do heal and are able to defend this country as I am sure that any other community in America would be glad to have you as a member. |

| 530 | Brandon Thielen | Some traditions are DUMB, like shooting a cannon off that kids made in metal shop- I nearly killed myself with the SCREWDRIVER I made back in metal shop, and it wasn't loaded in gunpowder.
If folks want to keep a cannon around, keep it in their own dn house. |

| 535 | Anne | Get well soon, ROTC beats football anyday in my book. |
| 536 | Cheryl | I still can't believe a town reported to be as friendly as Snohomish could have been so cold-hearted... |
| 537 | Anonymous | Apparently shooting a cannon in this town is more important than one of its own healing and having a sense of well-being and safety. The parents making these threats should not be allowed to have children. |
| 538 | Kevin Rollins | |
| 539 | Paul Mirel | Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery. You're a good man, Brett, and you deserve better neighbors. |
| 540 | Greg | I read that story and really felt badly for you. Hope you feel better. |
| 541 | James Burke | This is seriously messed up. Threats because he got his leg shot by a cannon? Anyone in that damn town should be ashamed if their concern isn't for Brett over the cannon. |

| 547 | Anonymous | hey brett, i hope you get better . you know where the town can shove that cannon ... insensitive sunzabitches ...... |
| 548 | Jackie Dickenson | This is the direction this country has been headed for a while now. |
| 549 | Anonymous | May Karma return the ill will of those who have no sympathy for this poor guy to almost lost his leg. |
