Name: Anonymous on May 13, 2007Comments: I am disgusted by Virgin Media's decision to impose restrictions on download speeds. I currently pay for a 4mb 'unlimited' service, yet my download speeds are being HALVED in the evenings. Tell me why I should pay for a 4mb service with a 2mb output I shall be cancelling my contract with Virgin Media as soon as I get another provider set up. Screw you VM, you suck!Flag

Name: Aaron Robbins on May 13, 2007Comments: I had my BB installed 3 days ago yet I was not told of any restrictions, if I had known i wouldn't have bothered, im tempted to cancel my contract after hearing this, why should I be told i'll get a certain speed if in actual fact I might be restricted for downloading a few files. I am absolutely disgusted, I think something should be done so that advertised speeds can be given without restrictions even if it does mean the ISP spending money, after all I'm paying for my serviceFlag

Name: Carl Barton on May 14, 2007Comments: Why am I paying for a premium service only to have it cut down to 1990's speeds when I use the service. The primary thing that has kept me at Virgin while prices have become ludicrous was its uncapped nature!Flag

Name: Rob Priest on May 14, 2007Comments: I signed upto blueyonder broadband (as it was then) because of the uncapped and unlimited downloads. Changing the rules will make people look elsewhere for the service they initially went for.Flag

Name: Nigel Parker on May 14, 2007Comments: I've been a loyal Telewest customer for many years mainly due to their uncapped service and consistent download speeds etc.. I believe I paid a premium for that as most other services were much less. Now we have a slow muted system. If these continues I will be forced to look elsewhere.Flag

Name: Dan Ashurst on May 14, 2007Comments: Why would they offer faster connections, (ie 20mbps) when apparently their network inferstructure cant handle the people on 10 mbps and under!! packet shaping is not the way to go... propperly configuring their network and spending a little bit of money.. which come on... they do have! i am considering switching ISP so i can get REAL service.Flag

Name: Simon Hopkinson on May 14, 2007Comments: ITC should be addressing the misleading advertising, too. VM are losing a customer if they don't re-think this. As a direct result of the new restrictions introduced by VM, just about every crappy alternative broadband service is LESS crappy than this service.. and the other crappy alternatives are half the price as well.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 14, 2007Comments: Disgusting service from VM once again Unlimited means unlimited not limited. 20MB connection running at less than 2Mb speeds, this is not traffic shaping as that "improves" the network by reducing bandwidth choking but to just kill off users who pay for 20mb and get 2-3 MBps when they are home from work to pay for the service is disgusting. VM YOU SUCK.Flag

Name: Derek Giffen on May 14, 2007Comments: Virgin, you should be ashamed! Thats not what we as customers signed up to. You know you're 100% in the wrong. No amount of spin can coverup what is clearly a download limit. Get it sorted.Flag

Name: Diane Croft on May 15, 2007Comments: Slow speeds, traffic management, poor customer service, and "BS" reasons for the problems whenever you speak to a staff member. Utter shambles. How the regulators allow VM to get away with this level of service is beyond me.Flag

Name: Cameron on May 15, 2007Comments: I have ADSL in the property now, despite also having Virgin. Does the fact I'd rather pay for your service until my contract is up and spend money elsewhere tell you why you need to get your finger out, Mr Burch Your company is a joke.Flag

Name: Chris B on May 15, 2007Comments: Virgin Media do not need to 'shape' the network, the network is far fast enough to cope with the users, it has been fine for me 24/7 for the last 3 years....I don't see why you need to manage traffic like this, surely you don't want to loose even more customers to Virgins rival, because that is what will happen. Then say goodbye to Virgin, all because of silly traffic 'shaping'. If you think people are going to pay for a service that is capped at the times they can only use it but could get alot more speed for the same pricce elsewhere then I think you need to do some major market research.Flag

Name: M. Sargent on May 15, 2007Comments: This will be the last straw for me too im afraid loosing some of my favourite channels and then capping a service which you advertise with no limits. i use xbox live and download many demos and updates from live so will be capped a great deal. therefore if this does come into place you will loose my custom and many many others. and i as many am sure it will be bye bye vm!Flag

Name: V.Smith on May 15, 2007Comments: £18.00 a month for what is effectively 1Mbit when i get home from work.. that's not value, imo my sister in law was getting capped to 512kbits from 1mbit for £18.00 a month (older set top box).. she just left for sky.. can't blame her my father in law, who never uses his connection but once or twice and month to check e-mail, I tested a download and after 20 minutes it cuts to half speed.. how can he be in the top 5% top 5% is a lie.. please sort this out virginFlag
