AnonymousGood luck with the petition - I hope Virgin take notice of this.
David PrestonI've already made plans to return to BT, who I was with before I moved to NTL/Telewest before the Virgin deal went through. Glad I kept my BT line.
Paul Barrow
Sara WilkinsHope Mr. Burch takes notice of this, and every other frustration that is visible online right now.
AnonymousLess cheesy advertising, less keeping up with the Jonses, and more investment in the network is the solution. The 20mbit service is 4x the price of Sky's premium service, and to be honest, for the slightly better performance of cable, its not really worth it.
AnonymousI downloaded an XBox update and a demo tonight. I'm now restricted. It's a joke...as is the fact I've been billed the new £37 price BEFORE I can even get 20mb!
AnonymousAnother unhappy customer (for the time being).
AnonymousI pay for a 4MB connection, Not 2MB. Oh, and thanks for cutting the upload speed to 192K so now It's going to take even longer than ever to upload data to my site now. :(
bruce hollowayyou're on very shaky ground virgin media. the tv and telephone go next month, the broadband may just follow it once i have a bt line, and therefore a degree of choice, again.
Paul WilkinsonMore money, more restrictions. I've already taken my television service to Sky. If this isn't dropped, I'll be taking my broadband elsewhere also.
Alan DunbarI will be paying £37 pounds per month for an "advertised" 20Mbit connection, so I expect to get what I pay for... By restricting the service down to 5mbit is appauling and unlawful, as you are cheating customers who take the top tier package due to larger downloads. If you are going to restrict the service if someone goes over 3GB, then I would expect a refund of 4 hours worth of downloding that I cannot use that the speed that I am Contracted to pay for!
Gerald JacksonThis so called 'Traffic Management' has resulted in many subscribers having their speed reduced at peak hours regardless of whether or not you have downloaded the specified amount.. I want what I'm paying for
AnonymousI work for this Company I think that this is total unfair we say that you can download what you want when we want. but now your saying we cant you making all these changes and so on saving money left righ and centre about time it was spent on the broadband server so that we can live upto the virgin name and do as we say UNLIMITED
AnonymousI am an ex-employee who left partly because of the disgraceful way that customers were treated, as well as due to poor internal communications and lack of morale. It's disgusting to see a company who claim they are so "for the customer" treat people this way. I bet Branson is regretting giving NTL/Telewest the Virgin name, although I'm sure 100k a year cushions the blow a little.
Paul BentleyWhy am i paying a premium for a premium service, that actually isn't quite a premium service anymore...I'm starting to feel stupid.
T.BurnThis is a completely diabolic move by VM. Ive hardly been on the net due to ill health only to see my speed drop (every single day) when i have been online, unless this issue is resolved i'll be moving on to another ISP. Stoke-on-Trent
T.BurnThis is a completely diabolic move by VM. Ive hardly been on the net due to ill health only to see my speed drop (every single day) when i have been online, unless this issue is resolved i'll be moving on to another ISP. Stoke-on-Trent
Keith Coventry
Alex k CrouchThis is discusting! Thanks to your new policy you've just lost another customer!! Great job steve!
AnonymousI am disgusted at Virgin's recent service changes despite the free 20Mb upgrade, which actually clashes with this set back. I will be moving to another broadband provider as my contract ends with Virgin this month, unless they do something about this quickly. Unlimited my arse.
AnonymousIf this actually happens im changing to something else.
Lisaun·lim·it·ed /ʌnˈlɪmɪtɪd/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uhn-lim-i-tid] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective 1. not limited; unrestricted; unconfined: unlimited trade. 2. boundless; infinite; vast: the unlimited skies. 3. without any qualification or exception; unconditional. I suggest somebody at Virgin Media reads the above before advertising the word "unlimited" on their marketing and sales brochures and on their website. It's borderline criminal.
Markthey have already lost 46,900 customers, do they want to loss even more? Well done VM, yet again!
JulioOn the Virgin Media website it says "No download limits† (unlike some of our competitors) ". Why are they saying that when they have introduced traffic management. There is a download limit with VM. Virgin Media are liars and if this traffic managment is not removed then i will disconnect my service with VM.
AnonymousIve never been so dissapointed with Virgin media. I thought this was a fair company but i guess i was wrong. This is a con, im on a XL package but if i download ill be put down to 5mb. Sorry VM im not paying for 5mb, im paying for 10mb which i expect 24/7. I will definetly disconnect from Virgin media and join Sky if the traffic management still remains.

A FRIENDI ALSO PAY FOR THE 20 MEG WHICH WE ALL SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE AT ANYTIME. NOW I HAVE TO STILL PAY FOR THE SAME PRICE AND ALSO GET JIPED BY GETTING FORCED DOWN TO 5 MEG TO 1 MEG. WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN THAT? FOR YOUR SAKE VIRGIN I WOULD TAKE A MOMENT, AND THINK OF CORRECTING THIS PROBLEM BEFORE YOU SUFFER A LOSS THAT LATER YOU’LL REGRET. THIS PROBLEM WILL MULTIPLY INTO MANY IF YOU DON’T FIND A SOLUTION AND SOON.
Shane PhillipsThe whole thing that set blueyonder apart from other ISP's was the unlimitedness of it. Now NTL have taken it over, it has gone down the pan. I think it is a shame that Richard Branson will lend his name to such a shoddy product. Traffic shaping harms consumers, and the amounts are just rediculous
DavidWell done VM for destroying a perfectly working NTL service which was all that was keeping me here. Your CS sucks , your billing is a complete shambles , india call staff that dont speak english , and now traffic shaping my 20mb broadband well herr no thanks mate I bung my 37 quid to sky. There bad but your a million times worse good luck in the future with no customers and a useless company
Ben WedlakeI am not a customer, but was just about to switch so I could have a faster unlimited service. Needless to say those plans have now been scrapped, and im sticking with my current ISP - slower but actually unlimited. One of the last ISPs to not have a FUP/caps has fallen, and the public are not happy.
Simon T.Signing this petition after reading of the traffic shaping plans at www.sn2ts.com earlier today. As a new customer I wasn't even aware of these plans. I'll be contacting Watchdog on Monday morning also and seeking Trading Standards advice as the sales guy who sold me the package didn't even drop a hint of restrictions being put in place. Shambolic.
Ranveer BasseyAs a Virgin Media customer for 5 years I was very disappointed to hear that "traffic shaping" i.e. capping is occuring on what has famously always been an unlimted service. I hope you seriously reconsider this otherwise you will unfortunatly loose what was once a very loyal customer.
AnonymousNo to traffic shaping!
Mark Spilsburybooooo to restrictions!
Anonymoussince last october ntl broadband for me has been terrible.india tech=useless... numerous engineer visits.swapped modems.and now .to cap it off on an already terrible service.traffic shapeing.im lucky on a 10mb service if i get over 2 mb.up yours Mr Burch this is the last straw.
Harry Latham
Matthew ScullyWell. download limits suck. say no more.
Ricky BurginI am strongly against traffic shaping. It is deceptive service and is not what I am paying for, if Virgin go ahead and enforce this traffic shaping, they will be promptly losing a customer (and I'm sure a hell of a lot more). Improve your network or offer services you can actually provide without limiting them so your shoddy network can handle it for a decent price. Really, your values as a company are totally wrong. Continue like this and I predict a forthcoming liquidation.

Alex TrimbergerTelewest were the #1 ISP before rebranding to Virgin. Since then, its gone downhill tremendously.
Eggblahhh
Anonymousif this is not sorted within a month then im off to be broadband, maybe i wont get full 20 meg speeds but at least it will be more than 5 meg speeds and have a better upload. ive been with this company for many years now , and this is the turning point ,this has got to be the worst decision you have come up with so far.
AnonymousAll of the adverts on VIRGIN Media from Uma boast about being able to download her many times. Over and over again ...... how can there be a cap if that is true? False Advertising? Uma wouldnt lie!
Tamoor
Dave KIt's a 75% reduction in speed!
AnonymousVirgin sucks.
AnonymousI'm disgusted at the idea of imposing limitations on downloading. Thats just not right.
Anonymous
Joseph KoszaryThe only reason we chose Virgin (Blueyonder) as a provider was the transparently uncapped downloads, if this comes into effect we'll be taking our business elsewhere
mark Watterswe pay for 20 meg, so give us 20 meg or we go elsewhere, simple really
