Comments: This is getting completely out of hand! Here in Calabasas California you can't even smoke in your car!!! Why can't these people focus on making city buses and school buses less polutant!! Have you been behind one of those lately I am sick and tired of feeling like a leper every time I light up outside, completely away from anyone!

Comments: I live in Philadelphia where there is a smoking ban. I think it is definitely against my civil rights to ban smoking everywhere. I don't need the government to tell me what to do and what not to do! Nor, when or where! This is still a democracy I wonder!

Comments: In the town where I live our local government has taken a vote and decided that you will no longer be able to smoke in all public places including bars and restaurants within the city limits. Our local hospital has also banned smoking anywhere on their property. I can understand the hospital doing this due to the patients. I still say they could assign areas away from the doors of the facility where people could smoke. When you are at the hospital you may be there for many hours and you may need to step outside for a smoke to calm your nerves. I don't think we should be right at the door where the patients and families are going in and out of the facility but, there should be some place where we can go and smoke. If you are caught smoking in your own vehicle while on our local hopitals property, you can be fined or maybe put in jail. To me this is not fair. I pay county taxes to help operate the hospital and if I want to light up a cigarette in my own personal vehicle then that should be my right. Our local town government has just decided to ban smoking in all public places including bars and restaurants within the city limits. If you are at the local Christmas parade, which goes downtown, you had better not light up a cigarette because the local yokal police will be there to swoop you up and fine you for doing this. I wonder if they will fine you if you are sitting in your personal vehicle in the city limits smoking a cigarette I just think that we are no longer living in the land of the free. It is slowly becoming a dictatorship in America.

Comments: I have been a smoker for many years and have also worked in places that either have smoking areas inside or out. I believe that IT IS our RIGHT to smoke. Yes, non-smokers should have the right to not breathe our smoke, but they can also go around us smokers when we are smoking outside. Our freedom to smoke outside should not be taken away from us. I currently go to college where they want to ban smoking on the campus. Smokers should have a smoking area. Cigarettes are legal and our right to smoke should be protected.

Comments: Not only did we loose our rights, but also business owners lost it to. I think the business owners should have the choice of having a smoking or non smoking establishment. That way then the non smokers can make their own choice. I am so disgusted with the whole thing. What about alcohol and drugs, now that's a real health and danger problem, drunken drivers & drug addicts. Ruins peoples lives and also takes lives away. I think they are using their time and energy on the wrong problems. Something has to be done, this is really getting out of hand.

Comments: I totally agree, I think Bar owners should be able to put a sign on the door stating "This IS A SMOKEING FACILITY" if the "non-smokers" don't like it, go find a bar that is smoke free. We the Smokers are being violated of our equal rights and the non smokers get all the rights.

Comments: I think taht as a smoker I do not need the government telling me where I can or cannot smoke . If a business wants to go smoke free that is their choice . I will go somewhere else if I want to . If I am smokingand a non smoker comes up to me they should not have the right to tell me to not smoke , this is my choice . I am a citizen of this country and I feel that I am loseing more and more of my rights . Just remember that when it comes time to VOTE remember to not VOPTE for those that take away your rights

Comments: I believe this law is bad for business in an area where business is already at an all time low. Also, the economy is too low to support this law. So when do they start on banning and re-taxing alcohol and maybe cheeseburgers

Comments: I think that government just wants to take control of all parts of our lives. i think this is turning into a communist country we keep having less and less rights we need to put a stop to it now, and stand up and fight.
