We, the undersigned, recognize the right of non-smokers to breathe fresh-air on University of Montana Property. In doing so we also would like to be able to smoke in such places outside of the few set-aside areas provided to us. We agree that smoking on campus should be okay if and only if we: 1. Aren’t within 40ft of groups of people or where people are walking(anywhere near the oval) 2. 25ft from any building. 3. Remain respectful of non-smokers. If they ask us to smoke somewhere else. Then we will within reason. 4. And make sure to put our cigarette butts out, completely out, and throw them in a trash can or the nearest one. We feel that the Cigarette butt trash seen all around the campus would be slowly eliminated, we wouldn’t feel targeted, and we all could share the campus and not feel secluded from the rest. You do not have to be a smoker to agree. Once enough students have signed and agreed this paper will be brought to the Office of public safety and president of the University.If you do not agree please feel free to share your opinions with this representative.
