   Comments: Kreayshawn is an artist that has been made famous by perpetuating stereotypes and caricatures of black culture. The only reason that she is famous is because some people are buying into her ignorance, lack of respect and interest in understanding the black experience. Her "hood white girl" act is offensive. I am a black student and I won't allow someone who is the picture of racism (disguised as cool) to display their disrespect for my people on this campus.

    Comments: The social justice action continuum provides a spectrum on how an individual or institution buys into the oppressing of marginalized peoples. By inviting this artist to the Smith community, we as an institution are actively participating in the humiliation, discrimination and micro-aggressions towards both low-income and students of color. We cannot call ourselves an institution that prioritizes social justice when we do not support, encourage, initiate and prevent harm from being done to our community. Say no to Kreyshawn.
