I am a resident of South Carolina, and being that I was raised here, this is a comfort place for me. I was born and raised in South Carolina, so I have a lot of family values here. As an adult, I have experience of living as one has been a challenge. Being a mother of three children, it is my responsibility that my children always have a stable roof at an reasonable cost to me of course. I have lived in other states and NC being the state that I have lived in for the longest time, I found that things differ from state to state. South Carolina is definitely a state where the cost of living is high and the jobs don't pay enough to where you can afford to live. But we try and the Landlords have all of the power!!! They sign a lease with you and then don't follow through with their obligation of making sure the property that was rented to you stay in a state where it is livable! and in the end, it leaves the tenant with a bad record and payments owed that they shouldn't have to pay due to negligence on the Landlords behalf. Landlords and the people that rent from them are so use to people just taking it because they don't have the time, money or resources to deal with it. Most working parents don't even know their rights when it comes to situations like that! Well somebody has to draw the line and I am willing to be the person that does it!! I know that their are people out here working hard for minimum wage and pennies that work just to make sure that their rent and bills are paid!!!! Who's going to look out for the working man? Well, here I am....please take the time to sign my petition!! If you or anyone that you know is working hard, and you know that what is being done to you or them is wrong......sign!!!
