Comments: RIGHT NOW, I feel cheated by LL, all my lindens not credited to my acc, 5 hours wasted camping and not one single $ credited, and now they have the audicity to say to say that $L balance is incorrect please relog, well, it's such a GAMBLE to just log in to SL so I think LL should just ban themselves since they say gambling is illegal. IT IS A GREATER GAMBLE TO LOG IN FOR HOURS TO FIND YOURSELF NOT CREDITED, THAT"S ALSO GAMBLING!!!!!! :(:(:(

Comments: I have been interviewed on most of the top SL papers on this issue. I would like to add this little piece just so people are aware of what will happen in SL. Quote Oh and a word of warning. New laws were recently passed regarding internet radio stations. LL do not offer what is played on these streams in exactly the way they dont offer online gambling, whether it is pirated or not, whether the stream is licensed or not. You can soon expect those to go away next. That would effect all radio streams within Second Life, independant dj's, live musicians, clubs, etc. Don't think it will happen If you thought you were safe, think again. Unquote

Comments: I am fairly new to SL. I came here with a large group of my friends, with plans to start our own business at some point. After the way that casino owners have been treated. I am rethinking my plans. I would like to make a few points here about the ban. 1.) Linden Labs is based in the US where gambling is legal. 2.) Why is gambling being banned while sexually explicit materials (yes REAL photos of women being gagged & bound, anal sex, and the list goes on) being sold. Pornography is illegal in many countries as well..... Some have said the gambling is real while the sex is not. I have seen REAL photos of nudity in this game, not just animations. 3.) Linden needs to add age verification for Mature Sims, parental controls, and some form of incentive for people to purchase PG areas. Open the casinos back up. Make casino owners place some type of disclaimer in their casinos. Don't take the easy way out Linden Labs. This is not the way to do business. Your customers, some of your highest paying customers, are angry. This will cause a trickle down effect that will eventually leave you with only an online prostitution service. When some of your larger corporations, that have invested in land, realize that they are surrounded by hookers and "escorts" they will pull out too. Right now there is about 50%, if people do not want porn they can just go elsewhere. What do you think will happen to SL when it is 90% porn Bad call... Finally, There has been much said about games of chance for real money, blah blah blah. Should we start banning games like Ultimia Online, WoW, Lineage II as well People sell items they have won (by chance) in those games for REAL money as well... Maybe we should just ban the internet altogether. The biggest disappointment to me in all of this is, not that gambling is gone, but rather the way Linden Labs has treated their customers.....

Comments: It should be a completely uncontrovesial fact that Lidnen Lab is a ISP, it is not a content provider it's a service provider. It appears that the US federal law and state laws don't apply to european content providers that use internet as the platform but for some reason those laws apply to content providers that instead use the SL platform... It's completely outragous that a such misuse of laws and abuse of force is not only beeing allowed, it's becoming a daily routine in a developed country. I would be completely fine if Linden Labs EVER declared themself to be a content provider, they're not, or if the service they provide was exclusive to us residents, wich it isnt (only 30% is for usa) majority is from the outside, why do europeans have to pay for corporate crime by american casino tycoons

Comments: gambling is allowed in real world, and on internet, and as such, i find it hypocritical to disallow it on sl. sl actually gave people opportunities to try and run their own casinos, and that chance is not offered everywhere. There ought to be at least some gambling allowed on each sim, or quadrant. gamble gamble gamble. make money make money make money. Maybe some people ought to make some more virtual worlds, and allow gambling LL loses business, and it has been poorly implemented, how they suddenly decided to outlaw gambling like that, and all of the people who lost all that monies ought to be able to be reimbursed for their losses, because it might be unlawful to suddenly change rules like that, when people have spent so much monies It certainly ought to bother their consciences, that some people will lose so much money. At least re-imburse partially, I think.
