We, as signed below, adamantly oppose the proposed NBCRNA Re-Certification Exam. This proposed exam will not increase the "value" of the CRNA credential. Nor will it ensure better quality of anesthesia delivery by CRNA's. For almost 80 years, CRNA's have been highly regarded by the medical/nursing fields for their invaluable/cost-effective deliverance of safe, quality anesthesia to millions of patients. We have done so by many hours in the clinical setting, and by many hours of continuing education. A re-certification exam will not give the public any better qualified individuals. It will only be self-serving to the board of the NBCRNA and the many groups who will benefit (monetary wise) from the outrageous review course fees..not to mention hotels, computer sites, etc. Our intent is that you reconsider what you are doing to this valued profession.
