Name: Michelle Waide on Jun 18, 2009Comments: As a longtime Skylight lover and local actor, I was stunned to hear of the firing of Bill Theissen and Diana Carl. How can two such talented people, who are such an integral part of the success of the Skylight, be let go Please reconsider your decision.Flag

Name: Carolynne Warren on Jun 18, 2009Comments: I am strongly opposed to the recent action and saddened by the narrow-mindedness of the current restructuring "solution". It takes tremendous foresight, creativity, and imagination to run a theater: such an organization cannot thrive when it is run like a furniture factory. You are not selling furniture. The position of Artistic Director can and should not ever be considered expendable. It is essential. Bill Theisen is excellent at his job and his loss would severely impact the quality of work at the Skylight. The loss of his position is immeasurable and will prove devastating for our beloved theater. You have a precious gem in Milwaukee and its future is in your hands. I join the community in imploring you to reconsider your recent decision. It is ill-advised. Every theater hopes to connect to its community and develop a vibrant relationship with the patrons, artists, and subscribers who support it. The Skylight has done that and the community is speaking to you. Please listen. Thank you, Carolynne WarrenFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 18, 2009Comments: This is aweful. Not a good idea. Bill is not afraid to take artistic risks which keeps an organization from becoming stale and too corporate. He is a friendly person who takes pride in The Skylight and the craftmanship of the artists & performers who make it a top-notch organization.Flag

Name: Jane Davis Weida & B.J.Weida on Jun 18, 2009Comments: To the Board: Please reconsider your decision to remove Bill Theisen. He has been a gem in the arts community. The political inferences and information posted in the two days reflect poorly on your leadership. It is not that hard to tell the Community that you made a mistake and go back to the drawing board.Flag
