Name: KAYLA HEALU on Jul 12, 2007City: CROSSVILLE TNRelationship to Island: GREW UP ON THE ISLANDComments: I THINK THIS IS DUMB .. THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SIT AS MANY AS THEY CAN OUTSIDE IF THAT PERSON FEELS LIKE SITTING OUT SIDE.. LOOK . THE BUISNESS HAS BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS WHY SHOULD THEY CHANGE NOW.. JUST DUMB AND THE CITY IS TRYING TO COLLECT MORE OF OUR MONEY FOR NEW RULES... NOT THE SAME ISLAND THAT IT USED TO BE..Flag

Skinny's is right on the beach and many people walk over there and enjoy this place. give them a break!!Flag

Name: Katrina Campora on Jul 12, 2007City: Anna Maria IslandRelationship to Island: residentComments: This is absolutely insane. The city leaders have gone way too far. Something needs to change, and quickly. Before long it is going to be coded that you can't walk outside and wash your car in your driveway. The city is taking away every little "old charm" to the island. SKinny's is and has been my favorite place to go and sit outside and eat lunch. There is plenty of room out there and sometimes it gets a little stuffy inside the small place. It's got the grill in the back and no ac (it's an open air pub, what do u expect) so naturally you want to step outside sometimes. The solution isn't add ac either. It is to GO OUTSIDE. NOW I CAN'T. THERE WON'T BE ENOUGH SEATS! ALL THANKS TO THE CITY LEADERS WHO HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR THE TERM "GRANDFATHERED" . Are we bored Is this why we just keep coming up with all these STUPID CODESFlag

Name: Dave Solis on Jul 12, 2007City: VeniceRelationship to Island: VisitorComments: With all the more important issues that are taking place nowadays you would think the city officials would find a more important reason to spend the tax dollars that are being paid, than spending it on picking on the local businesses that are attracting the tourism necessary for the city to thrive in the first place...Flag

The establishment is one of the few island treasures that both residents and tourists have come to enjoy for many years.Flag

Name: Jill H on Jul 12, 2007City: BradentonRelationship to Island: I have lived here most of my life. I left for 4 years for college, then was gone 1 year in georgia and 1 in North Carolina. I CHOOSE to come back because of places like this. The beaches helped.Comments: There is no reason why the seating arrangements at Skinny's need to be changed. Their place is small inside and they require additional seating outside. 8 is not sufficient. They have been in business for many years and have, therefore, been "grandfathered in" and have been allowed to have more than 8 seats outside. The island needs to be a little less anal and focus their attention on other things.Flag

I wish they had MORE outdoor seating and can't believe they are being charded wit this. Especially considering the grandfathering that should be effectiveFlag

Name: Leah Knowles on Jul 13, 2007City: BradentonRelationship to Island: Lived in Manatee County for over 25 yearsComments: Skinny's attracts so many locals and tourists alike outside seating is really imperative!! Please take into consideration the hundreds of patrons each week that do not use vehicles as their means of transportation, so having enough parking for them is really a mute point. They do not deserve to be fined for providing good, home hospitality for their customers!Flag

Florida has very nice weather and to put a limit to outdoor seating is just rediculous. Let people have the option to sit outside if so desired. I'm sure there must be better and more important issues for Holmes Beach to spend their time and money on. After all, people go to the beach to be outdoors.Flag
