| 403 | Anonymous | we must live in futur but i believe it's not needed for cw contest! If no rename it in other mode as "cw" !!!! |
| 404 | Chris / LA8OM | New technology development must never per se be considered progress or beneficial for (the ham) society. The CW Skimmer thing is absolutely counterproductive to our hobby. The Skimmer aficionados should seek satisfaction in RTTY, or even PSK. |

| 406 | Cezar, VE3LYC | Technological progress is supposed to assist us in so many ways, not to destroy what so many of us love dearly. |

| 412 | Anonymous | Nice for Fun, But not in a contest.. |
| 413 | E. M. Barnes, W5CN | Incorporating Skimmer technology into CW contesting is tantamount to taking another dose of steroids in a competitive activity. Haven't we taken enough already? What is contesting all about in the first place? If Skimmer use finds acceptance, then things have REALLY run amuck. So, in my opinion, CW Skimmer shouldn't be allowed in contest entries. No way!
If one feels some are beating a dead horse, then maybe we should do a post mortem?
And maybe I'm an old fogy, but I still use a Vibroplex mechanical bug and usually run just 100 watts.

| 414 | Fred Pevoto | CWSkimmer would really make a mess of the bands during a contest. I think it should be banned completely from contest.

| 416 | Craig Markley | CW Skimmer should not be used in standard CW contests. If people want to use it in contests, then let them set up a separate contest - "CW Skimmer Contest."

| 418 | John Guida K5XA | I hope we can and will fight this development. Allowed to propagate and become common place, soon parallel technology will be developed that will allow a CW Skimmer to be set up, and interfaced with other sophisticated software that will virtually allow the computer and the radio to do the whole damn contest without human intervention. Hell, we could set it up and go off for the weekend, and check to see how we scored when we got back. There may be a place for this technology, but it certainly isn't contesting. I don't think we want this! I know I don't. |
| 419 | OllI Rissanen | I admit that I am a real fossile and maybe fossilising - by this act of signing this request - our great hobby forever. I only tried a couple of times cluster and decided not to use it because it takes the fun out of discovering DX. So the DX fun is gone. The contesting fun is about to disappear with remote RX/TX, SO3R, 5-10KW signals etc so what is left. The memories maybe.

| 420 | Nando I1NDP | In principle i fully agree, i doubt a successful action |
| 421 | LA6FJA/K3RAG Stein Roar "RAG" BRobakken | CW is CW, and digimodes are digimodes. |
| 422 | Marco Pimpolari, IK0YVV | CW skill MUST be the base of every cw contest, let the kids playing with computer games. |

| 426 | Joe, IT9BLB | I consider it a very interesting piece of advanced HAM made software and stop! In my opinion, it must have nothing to do with our radio sport, also if I well understand that it'll create a new powerfull accessory for usual skilled cheaters. Anyway, it will be neither the first nor the last one: just let's go ahead in the old way! |
| 427 | Alain REBONDY | I agree all terms of this petition...
I think CW contest must be a real pleasure to practice and the aim is not to be the winner by all the means...

| 428 | Liviu Soflete | Who wants a competition between computers may organize such one, but not mixed with human operators. It's like chess - there are contests between humans and separately, between computer programs. |

| 433 | M Crichton | Unlike the use of aluminum bats in baseball, the use of skimmer technology by those who prefer to cheat would be difficult to detect. Ultimately, the use of skimmers could kill CW contesting and perhaps even the use of CW, since many CW enthusiasts are in it for the contests. |

| 439 | Mark - WU7F | I support this petition to disallow CW Skimmers for use in contests. Furthermore, I echo sentiments expressed by other signatories that CW be kept in its “organic”, traditional form where the operator must use skill and rely on his/her own brain. This is true of contests, but is also true for any CW QSO. The satisfaction derived from this skilled activity is one of the reasons I love CW! |
| 440 | Jim Spaulding W0UO | I fully support the reasoning behind this petition. |
| 441 | Gianni IT9ORA | I am respectful for the new technology, but the first method of communication, the CW must remain in compliance with ancient traditions we use the PC, PHONE, all digital transmissions, but do not touch telegraphy.
A total respect for its devotees. |
