I'm afraid for what will happen to the CW bands when those who can't do CW mess it up for those who can. Thank God I'm an old guy and won't have to see a whole lot more progress! |

| 510 | William Klepser, WB2AIV | From an operating perspective, I see little difference between Skimmer and RTTY or PSK, etc. It is a digital mode and should be confined to digital mode contesting. Since it would be used in conjunction with an 'operator decoded' (traditional) CW contest, it should have it's own classification. Those who want to cheat will cheat but most of the contesting community will know who they are and ultimately they will be shunned, disqualified, and banned. |

And cluster as well. |
| 520 | Dennis Schaefer W5RZ | Times change and we use technological tools to help even in CW contesting, but this changes the whole nature of the sport. CW contesting should not turn into a robot/computer as "operator" event. |

| 528 | NT4XT | Well, to each their own but... yeah- this sort of thing turns CW into just another digital mode. That's my main reasoning. On the other hand, I think it makes contesters strive for weak station QSOs. Wouldn't that be something, where the big winners end up being those who copied the most WEAK signals, of the sort Skimmer couldn't. Noise level sigs now become a commodity...
Nah, no way, Skimmer should not be allowed in a CW contest. That's why there are RTTY contests. |

| 539 | Dave/N6RZ | Skimmers are cool...but do not belong in contesting. I play in lots of contests/modes but CW is the mode I truly enjoy . When there is no skill involved in CW contesting might as well give up contesting...IMHO |
