, N0IMI have a lot of respect for N4ZR but cannot find a place for his creation in contesting. It appears to me once this technology is permitted, the only skill required will be speed; how fast can I move the mouse to the next call sign! Point, click, F4... ! I'm slow to embrace new technology but I don't see this as a benefit to contesting.

Roy, WA4DOUI support this petition completely

IS0PGFFully agree. no skimmer, no comnputer aid or other stuff for cw, pse only the operator !
IS0HQJFULLY AGREE
Dieter DemarkYes, do preserve current CW contesting! Banning Skimmer is not enough. We must ban further computerization. Many SDR uses can bring big score gain, even if SDR isn't notifying operator of callsigns or frequencies. Suppose winning required on each band SDR, with its own set of big antennas rotated by SDR software, all separate from what human operator uses for xmt/rcv. This is reasonable? Probably no current S/O stations are engineered for it, just some few M/O. This is big, big $$$$$$. Really, it all comes down to question of money.

David J. Sourdis, HK1KXANo skimmer, please, not for contests.
Zbigniew J Malik SP6ASeems to me that end of amateur radio is nearly. Next step - fixing some chips instead of human brain
Wes SP4ZEverythings in contest should be copy by your head and hands in real time one by one (including two radio sets). CW is a really art - do not we destroy it! Skimmer is the same like using trampoline by someone in long or high jumps in sport, 73

Roberto EA1JK¿skimmer? No, thanks... No, gracias...
Wim SP5DDJI do support the request that using CW skimmer shall be excluded from any contest. However, I don't believe that anyone could "control" the usage of it during contest. The best way is not protesting but enhancing awareness of what Ham Spirit is all about. Most of Hams already forgot and new babies haven't been properly taught. On the other hand - Why the world is eliminating our brain potential giving us lazy gadgets instead? Why some amateurs invent such a devices killing the real spirit of the radio at all. Listening to the "ether" is better fun that learning manuals how to operate software. 73'ss Wim
V. Giurgiu YO6EXAs organizer of TOP of OPERATORS ACTIVITY CONTEST (CW) I agree in totality this petition.

John ClarkAfter much thought I have changed my mind on this matter. While keeping in the tradition of Ham Radio it is natural to develop new technologies. But there should be thought as to how that new technology is used. While the skimmer may has it's place in casual operating "DX Chasing" It should not be allowed in CW Contesting!! In any classification!! I WILL NOT BE USING THIS WEEKEND !!!

Cal, K0DXCcontesters should rely on their skill, not their computer and skimmer technology.
