Comments: This is the only symbol of youth in the entire downtown area. It would be a crime to tear it down.

Comments: please don't let the city council tear down the boards, especially being they are doing it on FALSE PRETENSES! this tree is NOT A SNIPE SIGN. therefore there is NO REASON to remove it! and even if it were, I bet if one of the council members and a little boy or girl who was into skateboarding, the outcome would be a lot different. all they are doing is hurting these kids. if the council is so interesting in "cleaning up downtown" i'd like to see THEM on the highways picking up trash.

Comments: There are plenty of real snipe signs in Fayetteville, many of which are ugly and have been around a lot longer than the skateboard trees. This is nothing more than asinine bureaucratic bullshit aimed at sticking it to the little guy.

Comments: Its a shame that culture and art is being bound to what 5 council member's opinion of art is. Art is about free expression and creativity. That supose to be one of the only things someone cant take away from you thats yours. Dont let them take down the tree guys, keep fighting for your free expression

Comments: Though I am not a skater, I am an advocate of creativity and these trees are a work of art. Fayetteville needs more public displays of creativity such as these to create artistic landmarks thus making the city a unique haven for youth and artists.

Comments: When a system of government has to resort to finding the most infinitesimal letter of the law to invoke so that they can justify their own selfish motives, the system is cracking and will not support for much longer unless it is attended to and repaired. It is a hard thing to govern so many viewpoints, but it can be done despite its laboriousness and breadth. It takes patience, empathy, clear and distinct knowledge, practical wisdom, and selflessness to govern. The Tree is art, and if art is to flourish it must be cultivated; if the Tree is to be taken down, it is like callously discarding a section of ourselves that we willingly shared with people. It came from humanity, it serves as a signifier, it expresses feelings, and feelings are a sufficient complement to the cold logic that turns the globe.

Comments: i think it is really cool do put the skateboards on the trees. I think it is more of a monument then a sign. if anything it would be a land mark for decorating. kinda like some of the stuff you see in Disney World.
