We are just getting started...

We are a parent founded education advocacy group.  We have no corporate or individual sponsors--we are just concerned parents. We made a statement to the Chicago School Board of Education on Oct. 26, asking the board to explore the option of a 6.5 hour day, instead of the 7.5 hour day that the Mayor and the Deputy Chief of Staff for CPS have both said is a "done deal."  Please sign our petition to let them know it shouldn't be a done deal--and that thousands of parents, teachers and students have real concerns with a 7.5 hour day and we want our say.

CPS encourages parental involvement, on this important issue, I feel our concern has been ignored. Parents from successful schools are being ignored. We are trying to compromise with CPS, but compromise requires effort on both parts. Why isn't CPS using their successful schools as a model for change?

All of the outperforming schools are schools that have alot of parental involvement. Why doesn't CPS look at a solution to get more parents involved at those schools that are not performing. Education starts at home!

In Garfield ridge it should be 5.45 to thrive. School is only from 8am to 1:45
