Comments: If Imus was removed for his comments, I think AI's corp. sponsers need to take the same stance. The severity of this event will not be as digestable as some rude comments about a college basketball team.

Comments: Agreed! Simon needs to feel the backlash of the insult he passed on to the families of VT students.

Comments: Simon's eye roll was totally inappropriate. I am not from Virginia, nor do I know anyone from Virginia, but my heart goes out to everyone affected.

Comments: I accept the ideal of money and music play together, but the I do not accept that the show must go on..Simon Cowell may have intended to role his eyes at the contestant (who may or may not have been sincere..sad to say but votes are votes) because he was not impressed with the contestant's opportune time to show well. After all if the contestent was sincere, then perhaps their motivation to particiapte this evening would not have been all important...Do you see what I mean. Simon will apologize because he is forthright. Never the less I will sign the petition out of respect to those who suffer from yesterday's insideous tragedy.

Comments: Tonight Simon did one of the worse things he could ever do. I cannot belive that he would do such a thing. He does infact need to give an apology for he rude behavior tonight. Idol is doing this "america gives back" thing and when he does something this after showing how touched or whatever by going to those countries, how can anyone take that serioulsy now He is a professional and he should know better than to do something like that weather he ment anything by it or not!!

Comments: In his defense (not that he should have any, but...) I believe Simon was rolling his eyes because he thought Chris was pandering for votes. However, that is no excuse. At the least, he owes Chris an apology. But I believe he owes the American public an apology because it was totally uncalled for. He knows it, and the producers know it. This was evident by the poor attempt at damage control at the end when Simon offered his "best wishes" to the families. Yes, Simon, I doubt your sincerity. How does it feel

Comments: I was shocked and saddened by Simon's rudeness. I live in Virginia and felt for Chris and thought it hearfelt he mentioned his friends and those in his home-state. Simon was extremely insensitive to the victims and their families. I am sure the show producers told him to speak, but I think more is needed.

Comments: I am truly dissappointed with Simon eye rolling. He really does need to apologize but come on lets get a grip people. Firing him for this is about as rediculous as firing Imus. Their human and public figures and make mistakes. If everyone who makesa off the cuff remark or makes a face when inappropriate were fired then 99.9% of us would have been fired by our mothers. Americas becoming a country of thin skinned cry babies.
