Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee and Lobbyist Fred DuVal has made spending promises on the campaign trail totaling nearly $4 billion dollars ($3,918,695,000.00 to be precise). His reckless spending promises are approximately a 42 percent increase from our current state budget.
In the recent debate in Tucson, DuVal promised not to raise taxes. In fact, his exact words were, “No new taxes, read my lips.”
“So if DuVal is not going to raise taxes, how will he finance his nearly $4 billion in new spending promises without bankrupting Arizona?” asked Robert Graham, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party. “If DuVal can’t answer the question, it means he has been lying to Arizonans, which is clear. It is time for this career Washington, D.C. lobbyist to start telling voters the truth.”
