A decision was made by City of Cambridge council in 2009 to maintain the current street scape concept of 2 sidewalks--one on either side of the street--during the reconstruction of portions of Vine and Argyle Street in Preston. We the undersigned support this decision to keep sidewalks on both sides of the street particularly as it directly affects the safety of seniors and children in this school-dense area. We DO NOT SUPPORT the reconsideration of this decision by council, particularly when one of the outcomes is that sidewalks will be removed on one side of the street to accommodate parked cars.  We support sidewalks and safety over parking spaces. This by-law applies to all of Preston and  Cambridge so please support us now as they may be doing your street in the future. Please leave your actual name because any "anonymous" signatures will be deleted from the petition.
