همانظور که مستحضر هستید سیرک حیوانات پس از یک دهه تلاش به همت همه حامیان حقوق حیوانات و دوستداران محیط زیست در بخش های دولتی و غیردولتی پایان یافت. این خواست عمومی مجالی برای سیرکدارانی که سالهای سال با بهره برداری منفعت طلبانه از حیوانات به درآمدهای میلیاردی رسیده بودند نگذاشت و مجبور شدند حیوانات درد کشیده خود را بازنشست کنند.

در حالیکه هنوز اندک روزهایی از شادی این اتفاق مبارک نگذشته بود شاهد انتشار نامه ای از سوی مدیر سیرک قهرمانی بودیم که در آن خطاب به مدیر کل حفاظت و مدیریت شکار و صید آن سازمان گفته شده بود که در ازای تعطیل کردن سیرک حیوانات خواهان دریافت امتیازات ذیل است:

• توسعه باغ وحش شیراز
• ایجاد شکارگاه خصوصی
• مجوز تکثیر و پرورش حیات وحش
• مجوز صادرات و واردات گونه های جانوری
• برگزاری نمایشگاه حیات وحش و خزندگان

جای شگفتی است که پس از سه دهه حیوان آزاری، به جای آنکه پاسخگوی عملکرد خود در خصوص آزار حیوانات در باغ وحش شیراز، سیرک قهرمانی و واردات غیر قانونی حیات وحش باشند اینگونه طلبکارانه خواهان دست اندازی به همه عرصه های مهم در حوزه حیات وحش و حیوانات هستند. متاسفانه شنیده شده با همکاری برخی از مدیران دفتر شکار و صید، مجوزهای لازم برای دستیابی به خواسته های فوق در حال انجام است.

امضاء کنندگان این نامه ضمن اعتراض شدید به هرگونه توسعه باغ وحش شیراز توسط مجموعه فوق که طی سالهای سال حیوان ستیزی و عدم کفایت خود در برخورد با حیات وحش را نشان داده و گاهاً بعضی گونه ها را بصورت غیرقانونی برای سیرک و باغ وحش تحت مدیریت خود وارد کرده است از سرکار عالی استدعا دارد ضمن نظارت بر عملکرد معاونت طبیعی آن سازمان و بویژه اداره حفاظت و شکار و صید آن سازمان، دستور توقف و لغو مجوزهای صادر شده در خصوص ایجاد شکارگاه خصوصی، مجوز تکثیر و صادرات و واردات حیات وحش را صادر کنید. هرگونه اهمال در برخورد با موارد فوق می تواند سرمنشاء اتفاقات بسیار ناگواری در عرصه حیات وحش و محیط زیست کشور باشد.

Stop the Disaster in regard to the Wild Life!

In The Name of God!

With Greetings and Respect to Doctor Massoumeh Ebtekar,

the Honorable Chair of the Department of Environment,

As you are well aware, the showing of animals in Circus was ended after 10 years of hard work and activities of all animal activists be it within or outside of the government and with the help and support of those who just love animals. They asked for animal rights and protection of animals. This public demand did not give the possibility to the owners and exploiters of animal shows and circuses who had for years no other interest except for profit and who have filled their pockets with billions with no regards to animals’ welfare. They were forced to retire the suffering animals in chains. Not much time has passed from those successful days in favor of all animals, and we experienced the publication of a letter by the director of Ghahremani Circus addressing the Director General of Conservation and Management of Hunting and Fishing of the Department with the following demands: because of the closing of his Circus, he demands development and expansion of Shiraz Circus, creation of a private hunting grounds, a license for export and import of animals, and propagation and breeding of those animals.

After three decades of animal shows including reptiles’ exhibition, and torturing and mistreating of animals in most disastrous conditions, Mr. Ghahrema -, instead of answering and being responsible for his inhuman actions in regard to torturing animals in Circus of Shiraz, has the audacity to make these kinds of demands and encroaches on all of the key areas in the field of wildlife. Unfortunately, we have heard that some of the managers in that department are working and cooperating with Mr. Ghahremani and are issuing licenses and permits for him in regard to the aforementioned fields. The signatories of this letter protest the expansion of Shiraz Circus vehemently; a circus which has tortured animals for three decades and has shown and proven to be incapable of taking proper care of and encounter with animals and has even unlawfully imported animal species for that circus.

We would like to ask you please to check on the Department’s managers and their actions specifically the section that issues wild life hunting and fishing licenses, cancelling of all the licenses which have been already issued, no permits in regard to creation of private hunting grounds, and no permits in regard to import and export of wild life. Undoubtedly, any negligence in dealing with the above issues could have serious consequences in regard to destruction of wild life and the environment of the country.
