In 2009, "Sherri" was debuted to the world as a comedy on the Lifetime channel. The sitcom starred actress, comedienne and talk show host of "The View", Sherri Shepherd and mirrored real accounts of her life on the small screen. When the series was cancelled, many fans were hurt, yet also didn't understand why it happened. On a different note, the crew that worked on the show ended up being out of a job due to the cancellation. With today's economy, work in some places is few and far between and a decision like that is life-changing to ALL involved. There are plenty of other shows that get far more airtime than "Sherri" did that aren't as substantial, but yet it still gets the Axe??? TV has taken a shift since the 90's, however the caliber of the actors/actresses on this show are truly amazing, especially the starring character.  Bill Geddie, the executive producer of "The View" himself praised the show as one to watch. With HIS credentials and longevity in the industry, that's no short compliment! It takes a strong woman to really laugh at herself and an even stronger one to portray her life on television. With the "Sherri" sitcom, we saw comedy, drama, reality, suspense (i.e. the final episode) and much more. Although this show was on Lifetime, it related to men as well. Not only is this show relatable to women who are/were IN Sherri's shoes, but also to men who have been with a woman like Sherri or have been in similar situations WITH women like Sherri. The DVD for the first season is out now, but's let's make more seasons for the cast and crew of "Sherri."
