    Comments: Jonathan Hoffman has been fighting for Israel for many, many years now, when so many others were just contemplating their navels, and most are still just navel gazing. For ANYONE to defame him, is just as bad as an attack on Israel and the UJS HAS to take a stand one way or another..... they're either with Jonathan AND Israel, or they're against! UJS needs to grow a spine and do the honorable thing, and back him.

    Comments: Very sad to see such a long-time friend and activist of israel being defamed in such a manner by a UJS spokesperson. Sheldons views should have remained private and never have interfered with his work with UJS and Students.

    Comments: All attempts to seek accommodation with the various pro-Palestinian and Islamist groups have failed. They have their ideology and relatively clear goals. I find it incomprehensible that after the Holocaust experience Jewish organisations and leaders are still fearful to 'rock the boat', to try to be liked. It is a policy that has led nowhere. Indeed, the Board of Deputies has recently admitted that it has never really had any influence on any postwar British government. If the BoD could not influence an institution that is, at least publicly is a friend of Israel, what hope is there for the UJS to influence sworn enemies, What possible concessions can it make to them? The only feasible strategy is to confront them head-on as Jonathan Hoffman is doing. It puts the debate into the public domain and forces the government, university and other authorities to protect Jewish students and Jews in general. It also returns a sense of pride - although judging by Mr Sheldon's remarks such sentiments are not a virtue,

    Comments: People in public life need to respect each others opinions and should not resort to any type of attempted character assassination of anyone who disagrees with the other persons tactics . Maybe it is a storm in a teacup for some but NOT for others and UJS officers should show some respect and responsibilty to someone who has worked very hard for our cause for a number of years .
