    Comments: This is amazing, masaha Allah! Yes, adab (good manners) and akhlaq (good character) comes first when it comes to protecting one's haya' (modesty). Although, the outer hijab (for both men and women) is important too. I have noticed this double standard going on within Muslim communities in the West where Muslims from different backgrounds come together. This faith schizophrenia is a phenomena which perplexes many people. It simply doesn't make sense. If you want to be very reclusive or distant from non-mahrams it's a respectable personal choice but do so regardless of the faith of the person you are dealing with. Don't use da'wah as an excuse to have a dual personality. Is da'wah towards your own Muslim brothers and sisters not important as well?
