As residents and concerned citizens of Shawnee County, KS, we strongly oppose the construction of an industrial park, including a proposed ethanol plant in NW Shawnee County. We believe that rezoning the proposed location is inconsistent with the established character of land use and emphatically wish any such request to be denied. In addition, issues such as water availability, air and water pollution concerns, waste management issues, devaluation of property, reduced access to Highway 24 (for personal and emergency access), increased fuel truck traffic on an already dangerous highway, and other general health and safety issues support our opposition.
The response to our concerns regarding the proposed industrial development has been substantial. This level of engagement confirms that our community remains committed to preserving the integrity of our land and safety of our surroundings.

Hwy 24 is already a death trap without a bunch of fuel trucks adding to the mess. BAD IDEA.

Water is already scarce enough as it is. Why would we give it away to an ethanol plant?

My property value is going to tank if they build this monstrosity right next door. Stop the project.
