The petition

[ Arabic: http://www.facebook.com/group.... ]

Mais Shalash is a female Palestinian Nasheed Singer who sings for freedom and justice for her country. She is very popular in the Middle East and has produced many albums and performed in many concerts.

Global Peace & Unity Event (GPU) is a large annual family event in London UK arranged by Islam Channel. GPU sees many male Arab nasheed singers coming in from the Middle East to sing in Arabic. But to deny her an invitation to perform live at GPU on her being female would be a huge discrimination against her and women generally as it would be denying them the equal opportunities as men in succeeding with their talent.

Please sign this petition to show your support for Mais Shalash and to express your approval and request to Islam Channel, for Mais Shalash to attend and perform live at the main stage of Global Peace and Unity Event on the 25th & 26th October 2008, in London.

More information on Mais, as well as her performances are under the 'Links' tab on the right.
