Name: Zahra Khan on Nov 12, 2012Comments: As a student at St Georges it saddens me to think that students who wish to practice their religious duties are faced with unnecessary difficulties with accessing the multi-faith room. Living in the 21st Century and in such a multi-cultural society you would assume that problems such as this would never occur, especially since the facility was previously open from 8am to 8pm. It would greatly appreciated and a benefit to many students if the university would consider re-opening the multi-room like it was previously.Flag

A university that does not appreciate they spiritual & religious needs of over 200 students really needs to reconsider its morals. One option, which works in many different universities, is to possibly appoint a small committee from among the members of the room. These can be chosen & elected by the students themselves. This will then allow the leaders of the committee to appoints shifts, or people, to be in charge of opening and closing the room at the right times. This way, the university does not need to be bothered constantly & you leave the power under the control of the students who actually need it. Alhamdulillāh this would be so much better. inshaAllāh this can be done, please consider it.Flag

Every university of London has a designated area for Muslims to pray, I jdo not see the reason for us SGUL students to not have one available to us!Flag

Name: Hamda Adare on Nov 13, 2012Comments: I'm a second year student and I find the current system of students opening and closing the prayer room very burdensome and It has caused me to arrive late to certain lectures. Often, I am left with no room to pray in, as a result I have to look all over the campus just to find somewhere suitable to prayer, as the hospital chaplain is far too small and often occupied. I find this completely unfair!Flag
