The petition

Dear Supervisor _________

I strongly disagree with Supervisor's Carmen Chu and Sean Elsbernd decision to
greatly alter the language of Resolution 080345, Commending Tibetan Freedom Torch
and Global Human Rights from Torch Relay from any critical mention of China's human
rights abuses. Further, I am outraged that the revised legislation that the CONS
committee approved so drastically altered the resolution to have the opposite
meaning from its intent.

The human rights you stand up for are your own. Show China that San Francisco
genuinely cares for all human rights including Tibetan, Chinese, Burmese, Darfur
human rights by insisting on vote of the full board to approve the original
legislation that Supervisor Chris Daly introduced.

By denying the full Board of Supervisors the vote on the original resolution, San
Francisco is both risking its reputation as a champion for human rights and is
complicit with the Chinese government in its propaganda campaign to whitewash its
horrible human rights record and violent treatment of protesters in Tibet.

We strongly urge you to support Chris Daly's original human rights resolution when
the matter comes to the full Board of Supervisors for a vote.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
