CLOSING OUR POST OFFICE HAS MANY CONCERNS IN THE COMMUNITY... STOP THE CLOSING OF OUR / YOUR POST OFFICE COMMUNITY CONCERNS: 1. The cost and transportation to another post office 2. The closing will create another vacant commercial property 3. The other post office station will not be accessible to senior citizens and the handicap 4. Closing the Suitland post office will revenues out of Suitland and tax contributions funds for the state government. 5. Suitland will lose the social value of closing the post office 6. There is only one post office in Suitland, Maryland 7. There has been no distribution of input of alternatives 8. If the Federal Government re-assumes control the cost of postage can become drastically reduce force the aforementioned competitors to reduce their pricing and that effort would create a major savings for the United States citizens. Pro-active thinking of social empowerment is the only way out of recession. 9. Perhaps petitions can be forward to the Postal Board of Governors in regards to the community concerns around closing community based post offices.
