Recently, it has been reported that Roman Polanski was arrested on his way to an event being held in his honor. The acclaimed director has had a life full of success and admiration, and many have spoken up in his defense that "the victim has forgiven him", that the police used bad tactics, and that his age should make him less accountable for his crime. Some have even signed a petition demanding his immediate release. I do not see it this way. If any other person were to drug and rape a child then go on the run to avoid sentencing, people would be calling for justice and supporting any efforts to find this criminal. Why is it a few Academy Awards changes the justice system Firstly, he plead guilty. End of story. You can not say you were at fault and be allowed to bail on the consequences. The justice system doesn't work that way. I am calling for the sentencing and public castigation of a sex offender, as I would expect the same for any other criminal, regardless of who they were. Beyond that, I am calling for a total boycott of any project involving anyone who signed the petition demanding Polanski's release. Vote with your wallet, and let Hollywood know that you will not pay for this sort of slip of morals. Here is a link to the list of names who signed. ( I am not one hundred percent sure this is accurate, however the big names have been said on CNN, BBC, etc.) http://www.altfg.com/blog/politics/petition-for-roman-polanski-signatories/
