    Comments: As someone who was sexually abused and knows how traumatizing and painful it is, I urge you to abolish all statutes of limitations on sexual abuse in all states. Sometimes it can take a person their entire lives to remember that they were abused. And in the meantime, the person who abused them can have already abused an average of 30 more children! Most sexual abusers have more than one victim. They do not stop after just one child. We must have the power to punish these people and keep our children safe.

    Comments: With children the main victims of sexual abuse, the statute of limitations should be removed. It is not until the children have become adults and faced the damage created by their abusers that they have th strength to fight back. It is a sad society that removes the rights of these individuals by creating a statute of limitations on such a heinous, pervasive crime. We all know that sex offenders are repeat offenders who need serious help. Removing the statute of limitations will help ensure that these people are removed before they hurt any more children.

    Comments: I was sexually abused in New York State when I was 2...according to the statute of limitations a prosecution had to begin before I turned 7. I didn't even come out of denial until I was 19, and it took me another 3 years to begin to tell anyone in my family that I was abused. The man who assaulted me still has access to small children; he could easily molest another child.

THIS MAKES ME FILL THAT THE HELP AND HOPE IS HERE FOR THE YOUNG CHILDREN IN OF THE WORLD. HELP THAT WE DID NOT HAVE. ALSO THE MOTHERS OF THE CHILDREN THAT ARE AND HAVE BE SEXUALY ABUSED NEED TO BE PUNICHED AS WELL. MINE TURNED A BLIND EYE. NO MOTHER CAN TELL ME THEY DID NOT KNOW. I am 47 years old and have decided to face my sexual abuse...but the statue of limitations doesn't allow me to seek justice through the law and allows this man who sexually abused me for 9 years to continue to prey on innocent children. There is no statue of limitations on theft, murder or rape in NH...why is there a limitation on child molestation. The average time for a person to deal with their abuse is 30 years from when it happened...Let's stop this now!!!

    Comments: There should be no limitation for child sexual abuse, or an extremely long limitation, such as 30 or 40 years. The psychological damage is so great that it can take that long, or even longer, to come to terms with it and be able to confront the person responsible. It has taken me over 20 years. Having a limitation of only a few years is an insult to the victims, and is a way of further victimizing the victims/survivors. It is very odd that so many states have tough penalties for abusers (rarely applied to the most common abusers-- fathers and other relatives) yet have such short statutes of limitation. Really makes you doubt the lawmakers' sincerity regarding the seriousness of sexual abuse.

    Comments: I am a 26 year old adopted female. I was abused sexualy by my brother from the age of 8-11. I am getting married soon and now all these things are comming up again. YOU NEVER really "get over it". The worst thing is my parents never believed me because he said no he didnt do that. If I can tell people any advice its listen to your fucking kids. Adults need to be adults and deal with EVERYTHING that comes with it. To me the worst people in this world are those who do anything harming a child. Thats what the death penelty should be for. There should be any amount of time for you to persue your best intrest. The Funny thing is all I wanted him to do was admit it and get help. I know so many years later that will NEVER happen. Sad but true-

I was 31 and 3 days when I found out what happened to me was abuse and could have been prosecuted. Now because I'm 32 I must pay my abuser or go to jail. Where is the JUSTICE

    Comments: I was abused from when I was 2yrs until I was 7yrs old by several different people but mainly my brother and I didn't come out and tell my family until I was 18. I'm 23 now I have severe PTSD and am finally going through therapy but today I was contacted by him online and the pain is still there like it just happened.. there shouldn't be any statue of limitation on such a cruel act against a child no matter how long its been! The act still happened and they should be punished for it!!!

    Comments: i was sexual abused as a child and still have problems dealing with it today,more so now that one of my abusers has died and never answered for what he did to me plus what im still having to go through,and im 43 now abd i relive more times then not. someone has to take a stand for all of the small little children ,and sometimes even grown-ups that are abused also...the afterwards effects.....
