Name: Tari York on Nov 13, 2004State: IDCountry: USComments: I agree that the statute of limitations should be abolished in all states for sexual abuse. Victim's suffer too long and too hard to have the crime go unpunished. Sure the offenders will get their eternal punishment, but when the laws of the land are broken there must be a consequence no matter how long ago the crime was committed.Flag

Name: Stacy Marshall on Mar 17, 2005State: OKCountry: USComments: I do not believe there should be a time limit for sexual abuse. For many victims, it takes years to get the courage to face their abuser, or to even tell anyone about it. Being sexual abused as a child takes a serious toll on your self esteem, confidence, judgement, and overall mental abilities. I think it is VERY wrong for someone to get away with a crime just because they were caught soon enough.Flag

Name: Bonnie Fagan on Oct 4, 2006State: TNCountry: USComments: I agree that there should be no statute of limitations on sexual abuse crimes. These men may rehebilitate, however that doesn't grant them the right to walk the streets. They have ruined the lives of the people they assaulted and some of them are never able to have a normal life even after years of therapy. So why should they!!!Flag

Name: Kandy Coleman on Nov 9, 2006State: FLCountry: USComments: My name is Kandy Coleman. I am a 33 year old Criminal Justice student at FMU in Tampa, Florida. I am so happy to know that there are those who truly care about myself and others who have been victimized by sexual preditors. You have my full support. When i was 13 my biological started performing adult acts on me. He also had one of his friends having sex with me. In 2003, i finally got up enough courage to have him punished for what he has done to me, i was told by the Chicago police department and Illinois States Attorney's office, there was this statute of limitations that would allow my father and his friend to get away with what they have done to me. I can't even imagine how many others there where, or still is. I just want to say that whatever you need from me, i am here to fight for this to become a reality. I live in the state of florida now but i will fly back even if you need someone to pass out literature or speak on behalf of this cause. I will not rest until i know that these monsters won't get away with destroying the lives of so many people.Flag
