   Comments: I would think the Kamenicky Senov School of Glassmaking would be a source of National Pride for the Czech Republic where aspiring students would be greatly motivated to explore their creative talents in glass.    Comments: I was deeply impressed by the School when I visited it; notably with the ethos behind it, combined with the high quality and reputation of the tutors imparting their knowledge to the students. This necessarily results in the creation of work of supreme quality and beauty. Such a strong and formidable tradition, combined with a pride in that dynamic, could not possibly be re-created once destroyed. The influence of the school is surely felt by world glass, let alone all Czech glass and is immeasurable. I ask that the decision be re-thought and reversed so that such a jewel in the crown of world glass remains open, even in these difficult financial times. Thank you, Nigel Benson.

    Comments: I was so impressd with the high level education and creativity of the students, as I took part in the Leonardo exchange program and visited the Secondary Glassmaking School in Kameniský Šenov. Such a meaningful School schould not be closed in any way!

    Comments: I entirely support this petition as a passionate Glass and Porcelain painter, Glass Conservator. In my apprenticeship in Neugablonz Germany at the State School for Glass and Jewellery I learned myself to make and Design Stained Glass windows and Beadmaking......several Glass Techniques, so I would be personally sad to know, such a great opportunity like that school in Check Republic would close down for many interested studends like I was myself. I am anyway very impressed about check republican Glass schools, when we went with our student class in the last year of my apprenticeship, we were visiting many glass factories for Glass and Glass Universities in the Check Republic, I could well be, that this Kamensky Senov School is one of them, we visited. Keep up the good work and good luck with future of Glass and their education environment. Kind regards. susi

    Comments: As a current teacher of the decorative arts, I know too many sad stories of factories closed and legends lost. I can only hope that you can recognize what the international arts and educational community holds dear. The Secondary School of Glassmaking should be a World Heritage site and I hope you can hear the international pleas to save it and act accordingly.
