We the members of the Edmonton Aboriginal Senior Centre would like to express our displeasement of the way the Executive Director Will Belcourt and the Chair of the board Marie Pasula are operating at the centre. This seems to be a dictatorship operation. They are not there for the seniors benefit and this is the senior centre. They make all the decisions; if the seniors disagree their membership is terminated. They also release board members if they disagree with their decisions. But this complaint is to keep our outreach worker Doreen Pruden-Logan who is a great worker, very compassionate, kind and considerate. The senior love and respect her, the only Cree speaking staff member at the centre. She has been bullied for the last month or more by the Excutive Director and the chair of the board Marie Pasula On Wednesday March 12,2014, Will Belcourt entered her office and told her to write her resignation or he would terminate he at the end of the day. We are writing this letter because we want Doreen Pruden-Logan who is the heart and glue that kept this centre together for years, to continue to be employed there. It is evident that she can’t work under this duress. She is heartbroken that she can’t be there for her seniors under stress. We are hopeful that the management of this centre can be changed. This is so all seniors are welcome and can enjoy their centre once again.
