| 55 | Milwaukee | WI | In my mind's eye I can still see the yellow maple leaves on a bright October day I walked those woods hand in hand with a dear friend now dead and shared a picnic supper with him among those hallowed gravestones. This treasure must be preserved or we are mad! |

| 78 | Milwaukee | WI | This woods is on the SEWRPC top 10 unprotected sites for ecological value due to significant plants.
The beech trees on this site are particuarly valuable.
In an area that is rapidly developing, and often being developed despite a need to preserve green space, Seminary Woods has even more value for protection. |

| 89 | Mount Horeb | WI | I grew up in St. Francis and my parents still live there. The Seminary Woods are important to the city as a cultural icon as well as an environmentally protected area. The Stewardship Fund is a marvelous program in that landowners are rewarded for their commitment to conservation. Preserving this important urban green space is a must, especially considering the development that has taken place on the lakefront and elsewhere in the city. |

| 100 | Milwaukee | WI | These woods and access to them must be preserved; now more than ever,in this technological age, we need to remain connected to nature. The woods are a daily source of peace and joy for me and my family. I love visiting the grotto, teaching my daughter about the plants, sharing walks with new people who inevitably become friends. The other day, my daughter and I had the honor of watching a great horned owl and her two offspring calling to each other in the pines. We shared this unique experience with 7 other people who we did not know. This sense of community and wonder could never be duplicated in a strip mall or housing development. Please save our woods! |
