Schools preach of bully awareness but self harm awareness should be taught to.. How to prevent others from going there and how to help someone dealing with it.Flag

Name: Nick Souter on Feb 28, 2013Comments: I do support this, and am signing it, but all of you need to stop demonizing the school's administrators (really only one admin is aware of this last I heard) for "suppressing self-harm awareness." That is simply not true. What is preventing this from happening is logistics. In fact, the assembly we had last year about self-harm, suicide, and mood disorders was personally requested by Mr. Schlaak, an *administrator*. The logistical side is preventing it from happening, these things are usually planned out months/weeks ahead of time, not a week or two before. Again, I fully, whole-heatedly, and 100% support this cause, and have no need to prove that to anyone. But please, do not blame "the school board", administrators, and specific people for preventing it from happening.Flag
