DBKL - DO NOT APPROVE ANY PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AT TAMAN RIMBA KIARA
DBKL - JANGAN LULUSKAN CADANGAN PEMBANGUNAN DI TAMAN RIMBA KIARA
In June 2016, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur issued notice of a proposed development on part of the land comprising Taman Rimba Kiara. The development involves among others, building 8 blocks of 42-54 storey high-end serviced apartments comprising 2000+ units, which would add between 8,000 to 10,000 new residents to Taman Tun Dr Ismail. The plan also involves building a new 6-lane highway through TTDI, using a new flyover to be built from Jalan Damansara under the new MRT line, running through Jalan Wan Kadir and Jalan Datuk Sulaiman, connecting to Penchala Link. This monstrous development is unsustainable and will destroy the entire peaceful & quiet environment that is TTDI today. Cadangan pembangunan ini, jika dibenarkan, bermakna kemusnahan suasana, ketenangan dan persekitaran aman TTDI yang kita kecapi pada masa ini.
The proposed development totally disregards the fact that Taman Rimba Kiara is designated as a PUBLIC OPEN SPACE under the Kuala Lumpur City Draft Plan 2020. A mini-graphic from MAP 161 of the KL City Draft Plan 2020 is reproduced above, with additional notes.
By continuing to consider the proposed development, DBKL is signalling disregard for the express provisions of the Draft Plan, which is puzzling as the Draft Plan 2020 was conducted & published by DBKL itself in 2007-2008 !
The fact that Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan is a joint venture partner in the proposed development gives rise to questions of conflict of interest. The FT Minister and Datuk Bandar KL are also the Chairman and Director, respectively, of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan.
This Petition demands that / Petisyen ini meminta bahawa:
1. DBKL desists from approving ANY proposed development at Taman Rimba Kiara / DBKL tidak meluluskan APA JUA cadangan pembangunan di Taman Rimba Kiara.
2. DBKL respects the provisions of the KL City Draft Plan 2020 / DBKL menghormati peruntukan Pelan Draf 2020 Bandaraya KL.
3. DBKL gazettes the area known as Taman Rimba Kiara (as set out in the KL City Draft Plan 2020) as a PUBLIC OPEN SPACE / DBKL mewartakan kawasan yang dikenali sebagai Taman Rimba Kiara (sebagaimana yang tertera dalam Pelan Draf 2020 Bandaraya KL) sebagai KAWASAN LAPANG AWAM.

We are crawling toward that milestone and I really need you all to grab your phones right now and send the link to whoever you think cares about saving our trees because if we hit that marker before the week ends it proves to them that this is not just a small group of angry neighbors but a real movement that they cannot just ignore like they usually do.

I was just staring at the screen and realized we are creeping up on a thousand signatures which honestly feels wild because it started as just a thought in my head. If everyone who sees this could ping one neighbor who cares about the park it would probably push us over the threshold before they even have a chance to look at the paperwork again.

TTDI is a residential area and a highway to accommodate the massive development will cause traffic chaos along Jalan Dato Sulaiman with mosques shophouses and schools along the perimeter of the highway Stop the development for the benefit of all parties
This is terrible. Back when I was on the residents association for TTDI in the 90's we fought for the park against the developers and won. But it breaks my heart that the threat reemerges time and time again. We all need this green lung, not only TTDI residents.
Please stop the developments of the 9 blocks apartments and 6 lane highway across TTDI. It will affect the eco system and kill all the exotic animals and beautiful old trees which suppose to be treasured and protected NOT KILLED and DESTROYED!!
The klang valley doesn't need yet another shopping mall or "prestigious" "luxury" condo development that hardly anyone can afford . As a lifelong resident of the klang valley what we need most is space to breathe and parks to play in.
TTDI is already very congested and traffic is very heavy . Find a parking space is already very difficult and this has led to double line parking . DBKL need to be more caring for the residents in TTDI and should not approve such investment in TTDI.

When a Huge city like New York needs a park at the centre then so does Kuala Lumpur, having big buildings is not the only way to advance in development. Also the citizens should have a peaceful and quite place to go back to relax when theyr tired of the Urban life
