Comments: We should be encouraging any form of sustainable transport. It cannot be more dangerous than some young people riding on scooters.

Comments: Alternative modes of transported should be investigated and researched to find out how they can be made legal or how the law may be adjusted to make them legal. Simply dismissing innovation altogether will get us nowhere.

Comments: The University of Plymouth have two Segways which have reduced the use of vans on campus. The craft team who use the Segways for maintenance work enjoy using them and they are a great success. We also use the Segways for raising awareness at staff inductions and widening participation events at local schools etc. The Feedback from the people who actively use the equipment is very positive and if they were allowed to use them on the public footpaths etc would seriously consider having one. Comments: Time for some common sense, which all too often is not as common as it should be. This Segway machine may hold risks for users and others, but probably no more than say a bicycle. Shall we ban bicycles

Comments: With minor adaptations, ie lights and bell this should be legalised. What an excellent environmentally friendly alternative to the scooter and car in some instances.

Comments: This country is trying to focus on becoming 'greener', however, when an mode of transport becomes available that people can use to go to the shops a mile down the road, or to get from their house to a local train station, the government will not legalise this. Hence many use cars for these journeys increasing both pollution and congestion. I find it difficult to understand how Segways cannot be used in the UK when electic bicycles can, particularly with the increase of cycle lanes in our cities which could also be used for Segways.

Comments: It's a shame that in a country that is going greener Segway is not legalized. I came to the UK to study, and I was hoping that I would get a Segway for my daily trips to the university. Now I drive school (5 miles only), get stuck in traffic, pay
