Security. Safety. Solidarity. International Middle Mentors
We are the non-governmental organization International Middle Mentors. We stand for the security and safety of the witnesses who participate in the International Criminal Court (ICC). As outlined under the Rome Statute of the ICC, it is the right of victims, and often participants, of mass atrocities to participate as witnesses in the justice process of the ICC. Too often, however, their personal well-being and moral duty to help bring justice to fellow victims is threatened. Currently, in the ICC Kenyan cases of The Prosecutor v. William Samoei Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang and The Prosecutor v. Francis Kirimi Muthaura and Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, witnesses have received death threats and their identity security has been compromised. It is immoral to subject witnesses who have survived one atrocity to have their lives and those of their loved ones threatened because of their right to participate at the ICC. By signing this petition you are showing your solidarity with these witnesses. This petition will be presented at the November 20-28, 2013 Assembly of State Parties of the International Criminal Court. Help us reach 100,00 signatures so that we can present your support to like-minded NGOs at the assembly in order to gain them as partners in our mission to ensure the safety of the ICC witness.
